      The 27 Engine features 10 new SCOTT SCBA with reserve cylinders for each pack.

      These "state-of-the-art" SCBAs feature some of the latest technology available to firefighters including:

SCOTT Eagle Imager® 160 Thermal Imaging Camera (TIC)

 

      The 27 Engine has added a third TIC to the Throop Fire Department with the purchase of the SCOTT Eagle Imager® 160 Thermal Imaging Camera. 

       Fast becoming the fire service's most valuable tool this camera is ready for action providing vividly detailed thermal images.

       Some of this camera's unique features include:

  • The heart of the Eagle Imager 160 is a Fire Cooled microbolometer core that produces sharp, high resolution images in challenging heat conditions, as well as in much cooler environments.

  • The Eagle Imager image interpretation generates images without the ghosting, halos or image artifacts associated with similar equipment.

  • The Eagle Imager microbolometer features a 160x120 focal plane array that out-performs even cameras with larger arrays.  The core has a dynamic range of 1,100 degrees and has a 60Hz update rate.

  • Its unique form factor with its Twist-Change™ handle allows the 4.2 pound Eagle Imager 160 to be employed as a crawling camera, virtually hands free with a neck shoulder strap for the standing position.

  • Rechargeable 9-volt nickel-metal hydride battery provides up to 3.5 hours of service.

  • On-screen temperature readout for enhanced situational awareness and a remote wireless transmitter.

SCOTT Pak-Tracker™Firefighter Locator System

   

      Firefighter accountability is an essential part of any operation.

      One of the latest  additions to the 27 Engine is the SCOTT Pak-Tracker™Firefighter Locator System.  This system allows firefighters to locate a trapped firefighter or a downed first responder quickly and safely.  This invaluable tool features:

  • Hand-held receive that can monitor and scroll up to 36 firefighters.

  • Utilizes three visual and audible indicators to direct the searcher to victim(s).

  • Easy to use glove friendly operation.

  • High intensity LED light battery indicators.

  • Location of greater than 900 feet line of sight.

  • Based on directional 2.4 GHz RF signal strength received from the transmitter.

  • Currently the only one of its kind in the Throop Fire Department.

MSA ALTAIR® 4 GAS DETECTOR

 

      The 27 Engine has recently added a third multi-gas meter to the Throop Fire Department.

  • This new monitor is ideal for confined space entry and features a large, high-contrast display, rubberized buttons for low light conditions       

  • Capable of monitoring LEL, O2, H2, and CO with MotionAlert and InstantAlert features

  • IP 67 rating

  • 10'+ drop test rugged housing

  • 95+dB audible alarm with ultra-bright LED lights on both the unit's top and bottom

  • Vibrating alarm

  • Data recording processing
